RUBBER SURFACES MAINTENANCE

Due to the features of the product, it requires specific cleaning and maintenance procedures that may vary depending on the level of dirt. Being a non-porous material, dirt will always be on the surface as it will not penetrate as it happens with other materials such as recycled rubber.

Cleaning processes can be undertaken in an alternate way, being of different intensity; none of them affect to the durability of the product so they can be applied as often as necessary.

The product is delivered with a first coat of protective wax so it is not necessary to apply any further protection. Maintenance is of great importance when it comes to make the most of that protective coat.

Maintenance procedures are easy and quick to do thus very productive; they must be alternated for the best maintenance of the area.

The most convenient procedures are:

DRY MOPPING

The goal is that of removing the dirt on the floor (dust, sand, small particles, etc) to minimize the wearing of the protective coat by the walking activity. This procedure must be undertaken  on a daily basis.

MANUAL MOPPING

The goal is that of removing light dirt. This must be done quite often (every day or every other day) or whenever there is exceptional or isolated dirt. It is paramount to use neutral detergents so as to protect the wax coating. Wax-based products can also be used  for cleaning and wax restoring.

ROTATORY MACHINE MOPPING

The goal is that of removing medium to strong dirt encrusted  in the protective coating without damaging it. This must be carried out whenever the aforementioned procedures are not enough. With this system, any existent dirt can be removed, therefore; with a new protective coating the floor will look like the first day.

GENERAL INFORMATION

A correct maintenance fosters appearance preservation and lengthens the product’s life. The frequency in maintenance depends on the kind and quantity of transit, dirt, color and composition of the surface. Our policy concurs with the  maintenance systems endorsed by the manufacturer which are easy to be followed.

INITIAL CLEANING

Sweeping the floor to remove any dirt. Remove any rest of adhesive on the surface by using a clean and wet cloth. Clean the floor thoroughly with the appropriate product (neutral soap) following the instructions on the bottle. For those surfaces that require wax, the initial cleaning must be carried out using the correct paint-removing. When applying wax, we recommend at least two layers of a low-bright and satin product.

MAINTENANCE IN BIG AREAS  –  INDUSTRIAL WARDS

For those areas with potential spills of grease, a slightly alkaline product is recommended. For big areas, a rotatory machine or polisher with a blue 3M disk is recommended.

Rubber surfaces ought to be cleaned consistently with a well-wringed mop or a rotatory machine.

SECURITY INFORMATION AND MAINTENANCE WARN

A slippery rubber surface can cause accidents. This can be originated by an ill maintenance, dirt or surface pollution when wet. Every hard floor can be slippery when wet. Special care must be taken when cleaning the surfaces and ensure dryness before stepping on. With wet weather, it is advised to place mats in all entrances to keep the area dry.  In commercial areas it is recommended to put “wet floor3 signs.

The pollution of the surface can be caused by products like grease, furniture varnish, glass cleaner, disinfectants, and other external agents. Any spill must be cleaned immediately with paper towels first and then with a mop, neutral detergent and water. Afterwards, rinse and dry.
